Things to Celebrate
It’s Patti LaBelle and Priscilla Preseley’s birthdays. Sounds like we have a good soundtrack for the day.
It’s National Escargot Day. I don’t know if I want to participate, but let me know if you do.
My best friend from elementary school is also celebrating her birthday today. Shout out to Lizzie Bee a.k.a. Liz Cooney. The best friend a girl could ask for when growing up.
It may be the best day. It’s Tiara Day. You can wear a bejeweled crown and nobody can tell you not to. If only I had one in my closet.

Barbara Shultze waited 70 years to find Mr. Right. This weekend she will be marrying for the first time and her father will actually walk her down the aisle. How romantic. (Ksdk)
L.A. is starting to phase out plastic bags since they were recently banned from markets. They are the largest city in the nation to have a ban of plastic bags. The ban was passed with a 13 to 1 vote by the city council. They hope it will cut down on the clogging of landfills and bodies of water. (LA Times)
