Happy Monday. From now on there will be no more news to know. Enjoy the rest!

Things to Celebrate

This day in 1919 the 19th Amendment was enacted. If you didn’t know – this amendment is all about women’s rights. Go women’s suffrage! Stand up for yourself today.

It’s National Cheese, Cognac, and Frozen Yogurt Day. I don’t know if they’re a good pairing, but hey, it could be a fun time.

The automatic washer and dryer was invented on this day in 1907. Yay for women not having to wash clothes by hand anymore.  I don’t think I could be that domestic.

I love everything about this outfit, except the cigarette. The yellow pants scream confidence, love the fun and fashion-forward leopard belt, the classic red flats and white v-neck, the funky cardigan, and the simple, yet fun, necklace. All around something I want to own. So here’s how to get the look:

JCrew Toothpick Jean

Yellow pants: JCrew has these mustard yellow pants. I know I reference JCrew a lot (I swear they don’t pay me to do so), but they have quality products that will last. And their colors are awesome. Too bad we can’t all afford $125 jeans. Wowzas.

For a wallet-friendly pair of yellow jeans, you can get a pair at Target for about $23. They won’t be the same quality or have the same richness of color, but hey, you’ll look cute.

Leopard belt: It’s pretty hard to find a tasteful leopard print belt that’s not patent. The least expensive and good-looking belt I found was this one for $39.99. This Michael Kors is at 6pm.com.

The white V-neck you can get just about anywhere.

Red Ballet Flats: If you don’t mind shopping online, get these Chinese Laundry flats. I’ve tried on their shoes before and they’re really comfy. This pair even has a delicate bow like the above outfit. They can be yours for $39.99.

Cardigan: Sorry, JCrew product again, but I haven’t seen this color anywhere else. If you have, let me know. At least this cardigan is only $49.50.

As always, happy shopping!

Welcome to June!

Things to Celebrate

Happy Birthday to Marilyn Monroe. My dad is in love with her which must be why I think she was beautiful. I love that she wasn’t afraid to flaunt her curves.

It’s also Heidi Klum’s Birthday. I’m still in shock that her and Seal are no longer together.

It’s National Donut Day and National Hazelnut Cake Day! A fat kid’s dream.

June is the month of candy, iced tea and seafood.

News to Know

Men’s desks have more germs than women’s. Researchers studied 90 offices in NYC, San Fransisco and Tucson and found that men have 10 to 20 percent more germs than women. They swabbed desks, chairs, phones and more to conclude their results. (TODAY)
